A total of 20 FAST students form part of the 2015 class.
Eleven new students have joined those who are continuing with their studies from 2014. The majority of them are working towards the completion of their Matric Certificate, while others are aiming at diplomas and degrees offered through Unisa, Intec and Damline.
FAST has increased the teaching facilities and resources through the implementation of a new, more demanding time table for the students. Students who are completing the senior grades attend the relevant classes on the school timetable.
The FAST uniform, includes the school tie and blazer and as a result the students genuinely feel part of the DSS family. The students contribute to the DSS sports program assisting with soccer and hockey coaching and helping with table tennis, cross country running and the chess club.
Mthokozisi Ndondo and Christopher Thompson and are assisting the academic staff this year by teaching one class each. Mthokozisi teaches IsiZulu in the Foundation Phase and Christopher teaches English HL in the Intermediate Phase.
