On 24 February, the first leg of the 2025 Bridge Building competition was held at school level. 10 teams entered bridges for this competition. Experience certainly pays off in a competition like this – builders learn from past construction errors and improve designs. As a result, Tom Joubert, Noah Vogel and Liam Joubert won the competition with their bridge which only weighed 116.8g, carrying a whopping 270kg. 2nd place winners were Adriana Popescu, Kim Stegen and Eva Vulykh. Their bridge carried 220kg and weighed 123,6g. In 3rd position with a bridge that carried 160kg and weighed 128.3g were Andrew and Pieter Greyling with Keegan Witthoft. The winners proceed to the regional competition in Pmb later in the year.
