COUNTRY CHRISTMAS MARKET

The market was a true embodiment of a summer South African Christmas. We were blessed with absolutely wonderful weather which made the two market days enjoyable and successful. Good food, good company were there in abundance.

Numerous new faces came to explore the market in the country and I doubt they were disappointed. Our regular stalls featured good quality handmade items. The Pre-loved Treasures stall was a hit with everyone and literally everything from a battleship to a button was available there for a song. Toyland was a child’s dream shopping mall with tiny shops and loads of toys and sweets. What a treat! There were numerous new activities that kept the little people busy and happy. Pony rides and fun activities on inflatable slides and jumps happened all day everyday.

New on the block was the Yogishakes stand which served deliciously creamy milkshakes and the beef shawarma (with roti) both of which proved to be very popular.

A 4.7km wilderness trail was launched this year which takes hikers into the natural fauna and flora on our doorstep. Directional signs ensure that hikers stay on track and information signs elaborate on the plant and bird life in the area. Not too many hikers took the walk due to the high temperatures on the market days. The finale was a sparkler show and a show stopping fireworks display. See you there again next year!
