Thursday morning, 26 June, found us loaded with desks and avocadoes, driving along the R64.
Our destination – Sisisiwe Primary, a little school nestled in the hills and valleys of rural KZN, not far from Kranskop. Miss Newlands, Miss van Vuuren, Thubalakhe Mbeje and David Geldenhuys made up the DSS group. The purpose of our trip was to deliver a donation of school desks to the school, which is facing numerous infrastructural and financial challenges. We thoroughly enjoyed the morning’s activities, which included meeting the staff, touring the school and singing for the children. We returned refreshed, inspired and filled with a new thankfulness for all the privileges we enjoy at DSS.
