The provincial winners of the Bridge Building competition, Tom Joubert, Benjamin Tschudi and Noah Vogel, flew to Johannesburg to compete in the National Bridge Building competition held at Midrand Conference Centre on 25 August.
After an intense day of building according to the competition specifications given to them on the Friday morning, their bridge broke at 111,7kg. Their closest rivals were Glencoe whose bridge carried a weight of 110kg before breaking. Once all factors such as weight of bridge, aesthetics etc were considered and assessed, DSS took 2nd place.
