National Literacy Day also happened at Domino Servite on 8 September. From the start of the day, learners were encouraged to read good books about people who can enrich their lives. Mrs Geldenhuys began the day with the story of Adoniram Judson, a missionary to Burma. It made us all realise that if we thought we had something in life to complain about, we don’t in comparison to the many difficulties Adoniram went through. Miss Newlands spent much of the day reading good stories to various learners in an effort to encourage good reading.
