Teams from DSS, HMB, Greytown High and Wembly took part in the Regional WESSA competition held at Greytown High on 14 May.
DSS achieved 1st and 8th place. The questions covered a broad range of knowledge about local fauna and flora, geography and natural sciences. The teams discussed the questions and gave verbal answers. Learners develop skills regarding identification, analysis, logic and precise, concise answering. The competition is enjoyable, and much is learnt through participation. The refreshments at the end are also always appreciated on what is usually quite a chilly evening.
