The annual WESSA competition kicked off at school level on 18 March.
7 brave teams of 4 learners each took part in the school level of the quiz. In spite of a team’s wide knowledge on the environment and environmental issues, the quiz remains challenging because the scope of information that could be quizzed is as large as the planet itself! It was obvious that some teams took the event more seriously than others. Nevertheless only one team wins and the first and second teams qualify to compete at the regional competition on 14 May. The winning team is Elsi Haux, Liezl & Renee Green and Nicola Wunderlich. The team placed 2nd is Hugo Joubert, Lizo Magqabi, Lindo Nyoka and Alex Matveyev.
