Eight teams registered to participate in the 2018 DSS Water Equilibrium held on 7 March.
The first round was a quiz, where learners were required answer multiple choice questions, based on a case study. The top four teams proceeded to the next round.
In the second round, teams were expected to build a water system, using a sixteen-point grid, in order to equally distribute three litres of water from a source container to three reservoirs of the same size.
Team 1: Jacob Allen, Daniel Bosman, Daniel Pop
Team 2: Martin Graf, Evan Hanekom, Mark Haux
Team 3: Melanie Engelbrecht, Rina Geldenhuys, Christine Knieper
The first and second-placed teams will proceed to the regional competition in Pietermaritzburg later this year.
