The Regional WESSA competition took place on 9 May in Greytown High School hall.
There were nine teams competing from local schools. This year there were slightly more varied questions in the competition covering a wide range of topics from the stars to the sea.
DSS A team comprised of Monica Allen, Ria Combrink, Anneli Engelbrecht and Nadine Engelbrecht achieced 7th position.
The DSS B team comprised of Elsi and Lisa Haux and Nicola and Stefanie Wunderlich achieved 2nd place after Hermannsburg who came first. The B team will continue to the national competition on 4 August in Pietermaritzburg, depending on number of schools competing.
