The 2024 school year concluded with a wonderful prize-giving event that celebrated the top achievements of the year in Grade 4-12.
Guest speaker, Mark Baker gave an inspiring address about hope and the transformative impact each of us can have in the world. The singing and music performances showcased the learners’ musical talents as well as those of the conductors.
Sportswoman of the Year was won by Megan Engelbrecht and Sportsman of the Year by Alexander Gideon. Joshua Combrink, Megan Engelbrecht and Adelle can der Walt took the Grade 12 Outstanding Academic Achiever awards. Esethu Buthelezi won the Grade 12 Diligence award. Adelle van der Walt won the Maths and Double Sciences award.
The 2024 aQuelle-Emseni Make a Difference awards were won by five worthy winners: Megan Engelbrecht, Alexander Gideon, Kwanele Hlope, Siphokazi Mthonti, Adelle van der Walt. Joshua Combrink was awarded the coveted Emseni-aQuelle Good Fellowship award.
Martin Combrink, on behalf of the alumni, used a few minutes of the program to congratulate the principal, Ms Newlands, on her outstanding service to the school for the past 30 years. A video sharing congratulatory messages and young faces of many alumni was shown. What a treat.
