SACSSA Cross Country Championships

The SACSSA Cross Country Championships took place on 30 July at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium in Ermelo, Mpumalanga.

 DSS athletes competed as part of the KZN Cross Country team which was ranked as the overall winner with Mpumalanga in second spot and Gauteng in the third spot. 

Team Results: 
Primary School Girls: 1-KZN, 2-Mpumalanga, 3-Gauteng
Primary School Boys: 1-KZN, 2-Mpumalanga, 3-Limpopo
High School Girls: 1-Eastern Province, 2-KZN, 3-Gauteng
High School Boys: 1-KZN, 2-Mpumalanga, 3-Gauteng

The following athletes won bronze medals in their events:
Amy van Tonder U11 Girls 3km
Jessica Mgijima U14 Girls 4km
Christine Knieper U15 Girls 4km
Lisa Haux U17 Girls 4km

The following athletes won silver medals:
Tanya Gideon U7 Girls 1km
Alexander Gideon U9 Boys 2km
Nadine Engelbrecht U13 Girls 3km
Mark Haux U14 Boys 4km

The following athletes won gold medals:
Kai Vermaak U7 Boys 1km
Emmanuel Meyer U10 Boys 2km
Liezl Green U12 Girls 3km
Elsi Haux U13 Girls 3km
Philip Green U14 Boys 4km
Sara Knieper U19 Girls 6km
David Graf U19 Boys 8km
