On 10 October, DSS hosted a Careers Day Expo.

It was a first and it proved to be an interesting and varied experience for the High School learners.

Learners toured exhibitions in the hall and explored various career paths and study options. Lorato Ntsie from the South African Institute of Civil Engineers (SAICE) brought valuable information and expertise with her. The learners were able to discuss career paths and study options with some of our local students, businessmen and artisans.

The Grade 11s and 12s had the added benefit of an informative and entertaining tour of the KSB hothouses. The manager, Mr Dietmar Joosten, gave much of his time to the learners and showed them how meaningful it can be to work in the agricultural sector. Rev Erlo Stegen told of the beginnings of the hothouse project and gave learners much food for thought with his insightful and inspirational words.
